Rules & Regulations of the Lockport Cemetery Association

• Natural Flowers in approved areas only, within 12" of East side of tombstone.
• Potted plants in 6" or 8" pots only.
• Boxed plants not to exceed 15" long or 8" wide, made of wood, plastic or metal only.
• Flags on Memorial Day, Independence Day or Veterans Day placed 3 days prior & removed 1 week after Holiday.
• Where monuments are permitted, only annual plants may be planted in bed in front and extending no further than 12" from raised family monument.
• Artificial décor not permitted during growing season. Illegal décor will be removed.
• Spring artificial flowers permitted from March 1st to April 25th.  Artificial flowers are not permitted any other time of year.
• Grave blankets & pillow blankets are not allowed at any time.
• Please take any containers, old flowers, vases, or other throw-away items home to your garbage to assist us with our E.P.A. standards on garbage pick-up.
• Please don't park on the grass.
• All grave sales must be paid in full at time of purchase. Lockport Cemetery Association does not accept payment plans. In addition, all Operational Fees must be paid in full at the time of grave purchase.   
• It shall be the duty of the Grave or Lot Holder to notify the Cemetery of any change in his/her post office address. Notice sent to a Grave or Lot Holder at the last address in the Cemetery's records shall be considered sufficient and proper legal notification.   
• The purchaser of a plot, lot, grave, crypt or niche, shall not be deemed to be vested with title thereto until the full purchase price thereof, including the interest, if any, shall have been paid to the Association. In the event of default in payment of the purchase price or the interest, or any part thereof, when due it is the right of the Cemetery Association to reclaim said grave or graves without refund.   
• A cemetery lot owner’s rights are contractual and subject to the ordinary rules of contract law. In nearly all jurisdictions, one who purchases and has conveyed to him/her a lot in a public cemetery does not acquire the fee to the soil. He/she acquires only a right of burial therein which has been variously designated as an easement or as a license or privilege.
